ICE CARVING ALL YEAR ROUND
at the Downtown Bayside Mall

-Sarnia SNOWFEST 2008
SNOWFEST is celebrating it's 17th year this January, and plans are under way for a truly wonderful winter event. This year’s event will take place at Centennial Park, where we will have plenty of room for all our activities.

Sculptors from all over the world will be traveling to Sarnia to carve 8 foot columns of snow into works of art. Teams will be arriving from countries as far away as China, Mexico, not to mention Canada and the USA. Viewing starts Friday, January 18. Watching these sculptors create their masterpieces is truly a sight to be seen.

With the help of our Ice Centre, we will be featuring a multitude of
Ice Sculptures. The Charity Challenge – Snow Sculpting Competition will be back again, showcasing our local talent. Here, you will be able to see our community sculpt snow for the charity of their choice. Click Here to find out more!

The children will not want to miss the fabulous FREE shows by
award-winning songwriter and performer, Robert Davis on both Saturday and Sunday. Robert will be singing your favourite songs from his 2 CDs: I Dream of Pizza, and Get Snappy.

And for the young tots they will love the
"Snowman Carving and Outfitting"
. Just bring your carrots, buttons and hat, we will supply the help and snow.

The Police Foundations Program from Lambton College is hosting a
'911 Polar Bear Plunge' at Sarnia Bay boat docks in Centennial Park on Saturday at 11 P.M. Members from local emergency services will be joining us for the plunge as well raising money for Victim Services of Sarnia-Lambton. Come join us for the fun!

There are many other family activities that take place during the weekend of Sarnia SNOWFEST. For starters, there are Ice Carving Demonstrations, where the artists use chainsaws and chisels to work their magic for the public. For some competitive fun, there are the Three-Man Skis. For the younger kids, we have the popular Giant SNOWFEST Earth Ball. And on the icy Sarnia Bay will be the fast and exciting Motorcycle Races ...so be sure to mark Sarnia SNOWFEST down on your January 2008 calendar!

Weather permitting ... Come and enjoy our Man-made Snow Storm on Saturday at 12:30 pm
